Details: Geranium maculatum there are always plants you see on a walk in the woods that make an impression & you ask yourself, "I wonder what this plant is?" wild geranium is one of those plant. An early to mid-spring hike in our northeastern woodlands will emblazon this plant in your mind with its deep green, deeply cut foliage forming a rounded mound with 1 to 1.5" Diameter, pink to lavender, single, five-pre-installed flowers floating above. This very attractive bloom is not letting like many spring Woodland flowers... You'll be able to enjoy It on subsequent spring walks for 6 to 7 weeks, making it all the better to think about how it might look in your landscape in a partially sunny spot. The answer: It will look great, especially if you plant it groups. It will look even better when you Catch a glimpse of all the spring butterflies that will visit to steal some of this plant's sweet nectar! Grow tips easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Will spread but not aggresively. Removing spent flowers isn't necessary because they do not bloom for a s time. The foliage however can be quite attractive.
